Our Story
Healthy Heart Nation was founded by Dr. Columbus Batiste and Danette Batiste, driven by their shared commitment to improving community health. Dr. Columbus Batiste, a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist, is renowned for his innovative approaches to chronic disease management through lifestyle changes. He launched a pioneering virtual cardiac rehabilitation program and authored “Selfish: A Cardiologist Guide To A Stressed Heart.” His dedication to educating the community on plant-based nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction is unwavering.
Danette Batiste, the full-time CEO/Executive Director, brings over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including roles as Vice President of Operations for CC-OPS and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Manager for Softchoice. Her leadership and expertise in managing large teams and fostering diversity and inclusion have been instrumental in her role at Healthy Heart Nation.
Recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to health, Dr. Batiste and Danette co-founded Healthy Heart Nation to improve physical health by enhancing community health, believing that it takes a village to raise the health of an individual.
