James Curtis, V

James Curtis is a Business Finance major and Pre-Med student at UCR. In spring 2024 he graduated with distinguished honors from Riverside City College, attaining a degree in Business Administration. After taking biology in college, he became fascinated with science and the human body. To fulfill his life’s purpose of helping people, James decided to pursue a career in medicine.

James has a deep passion for serving children and intends to pursue a career as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. He regularly volunteers in the children’s ministry of his church. He has also helped raise thousands of dollars for suicide prevention via NAMI and The Trevor Project, as a social media influencer streaming on the Twitch social media platform.

Before James' interest in academics and medicine, he was a full-time social media influencer. During this time he amassed over 190,000 followers, was Sponsored by AT&T as a brand ambassador, and was the first person to be made a Twitch Partner live at Twitch con. James created the third highest viewed #ASMR TikTok video, was on the premiere of the TBS show Super Punch, and was a Twitch front page partner for AAPI & Black History Month. He has also collaborated on video content with brands and persons such as Gibi ASMR, SypherPK, and Raid Shadow Legends.

James' personal interests include powerlifting, anime, and martial arts, especially jiu-jitsu. He is an avid reader of self-improvement books and loves learning about neuroscience and psychology. He is a gregarious, hardworking, and lighthearted individual who can bring a smile into any room.
